Janet Grice Group
Brazilian music, originals and standards in duo to quintet formations, including songs by Tom Jobim, Hermeto Pascoal and Moacir Santos. An improviser on the bassoon, Janet has played internationally in jazz settings as a soloist and band member. Her style has been influenced by a variety of musicians that she’s worked with, such as Don Cherry, Paulo Moura and Cliff Korman.

Unique jazz influenced by Eastern European styles, rock, Latin grooves and American classics, led by composer Lee Tomboulian. All band members are strong improvisers, featuring Tomboulian on accordion and piano, Carlos Cuevas – melodica and piano, Janet Grice – bassoon, David Silliman – percussion, Patricia Brennan – vibraphone, and Cliff Schmitt – double bass.
Orchestras, Chamber Music, and Recitals
Classical, contemporary and crossover music. She plays in The Chappaqua Orchestra, the Daisy Jopling Global Music Academy Orchestra, and freelances in the New York Metropolitan area. Her recital program of Latin American Bassoon Music features works by Guerra Peixe, Astor Piazzolla, and Paquito D’Rivera.
Chamber Music of the Americas. Group members are Janet Grice – bassoon, Kevin Willois – flute, Sarah Bednarcik – clarinet. Vento Trio has performed throughout NJ and NY, and in France and Brazil, since 2004. Their repertoire features choros, original music, and works of contemporary composers from Latin America and the USA.
